The She Plays To Win UK Girls Chess Project is a not for profit charity which aims to encourage more girls to learn, play and enjoy chess. This will be focused on 3 primary areas;
Primary School (Under 11)
Secondary School (Under 18)
University (Under 28)
Further to this, the extra aims are in line with the ECF ‘Development of Women’s Chess Progress Plan’ (June 2019)
Encouraging and facilitating chess as a social and competitive activity
Encouraging juniors to continue to play chess as they move into adulthood
Increase female membership of the ECF
Encouraging and developing social chess
In 2019, only 7.5% of the ECF Membership are women
SPTW plans to boost this number considerably, with a target of helping the ECF achieve its target of 15% membership by 2023
