SPTW attends ‘Red Against Racism’ FC Bayern Munich event

Saturday 4th May saw She Plays To Win girls attend a special event led by the German football club, Bayern Munich.

Due to the clash with the SPTW teams participating at the 4NCL, where SPTW Founder Lorin D’Costa attended to coach the girls, SPTW was represented by a parent in this event.

“Melinda Wilde from the British team "She Plays to Win" raised the issue of the underrepresentation of women in chess. Her organization is trying to specifically counteract this and offers girls and women in Great Britain a platform to organize themselves and develop opportunities to pursue chess and promote social contacts. In this sense, the invitation to the “Red against Racism” event is a more than welcome opportunity to build contacts across borders”.
