SPTW Fundraiser Tournament a success!

New Years Eve saw 69 players participate in the SPTW Online Fundraiser Tournament. This event was open to all; male, female, parents, coaches etc. Players played 7 games of ‘blitz’ chess i.e. 3 minutes per player and 2 seconds per move added.

There were many good female performances, but 3 players shared first including Grandmaster and former British Champion, Jim Plaskett.

Especially we would like to thank everyone who donated to SPTW, raising over £800 allowing SPTW to run chess events for girls in 2023- details to come soon on those.
