SPTW Top Grandmaster Training

January 2022 saw a first for SPTW as some our top girls received world class training from Dutch Grandmaster Ivan Sokolov, himself a former world number 12 player.

Training took place on zoom across two 90 minute sessions. The girls were put through their paces on middlegame training, which is GM Sokolov’s forte given the worldwide success of his book ‘Winning Chess Middlegames’.

Feedback from the sessions was excellent, and SPTW will look to do guest speaker classes from both male and female players moving forward for our girls.
