Eugenia International success in Serbia

With International chess events making a long awaited comeback, SPTW is pleased to report on the success of 12 year old Eugenia Karas from London.

Eugenia toured Serbia playing in 4(!) consecutive FIDE Internationally rated events, gaining over 200 FIDE points to her rating and propelling her to the top 30 girls in the World for those aged Under 13.

Eugenia also became the England Number 1 rated Under 13 girl alongside this achievement.

SPTW can strongly recommend girls who are around the top of their age group play more FIDE rated tournaments just like Eugenia has. It is more than just the chess, as Eugenia herself says when she participated in the Serbia Open Tournament in Belgrade in July;

“It is an honour and privilege to play in the same room along with some of the notorious grandmasters, such as GM Vladimir Fedoseev and GM Nihal Sarin. I will never forget this experience”.

One of the SPTW goals is to enhance the England Women’s Team over the coming years, and will support girls like Eugenia to play International events.
